Mrs. Diane Von Furstenberg.
Her dream began in the early 70’s.
“The minute I knew I was about to be Egon’s [former husband and Prince of Germany] wife, I decided to have a career. I wanted to be someone of my own, and not just a plain little girl who got married beyond her desserts.”
However it was only when she became newly single and no longer a princess, in 1973 and with $30,000, did she begin designing her iconic wrap dresses and thereby changing the way a woman can cinch her waistline forever.
Fast forward to today, Diane has a CDA lifetime achievement award to her name, a collection in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, various other business ventures, and a reputation for being a strong woman who knows what she likes and states her mind.
DITC appreciates and respects women like Mrs. Von Furstenberg who have the passion, the drive, and the talent to pursue a dream. Did we mention we also love her dresses? As the famous and reputable Alex Baldwin once said “Great dress. That Diane Von Furstenberg really knows a woman’s body.” That she does, Alex.
Cheers Everyone to a New Year, to Diane, to going places in the world and looking fabulous doing it. xoxo
